CHS ATHLETICS VISION
Our vision for CHS athletics is to develop Christian leaders who strive for excellence. We will have a tradition of excellence across all sports, with student-athletes who are recognized for their outstanding achievements both on and off the field.
We will do this through our process of “BUILD”.
WHAT IS BUILD?
BUILD is the process of becoming elite. BUILD has 4 parts: Blueprint, Dig, Lay the Foundation, and One Brick at a Time.
The first step in the BUILD process is to create a vision or blueprint for yourself. This means defining your goals, identifying your strengths and weaknesses, and developing a plan to achieve your objectives. It's important to have a clear vision of where you want to go and what you want to accomplish, so you can stay focused and motivated throughout the process. A house needs a blueprint before the building even begins. In a similar way, we want our student-athletes to have goals and a vision for what they want to accomplish in their life.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
When they have their blueprint on what they want to build, next comes the Dig. The dig has everything to do with getting rid of the bad habits and the “muck” that will get in the way of laying a solid foundation. We want them to develop daily winning habits both on and off the field or court. We want our student-athletes to become self-aware of who they are and what skills they have while developing elite habits.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the LORD, not for man.”
From there, we Lay the Foundation. When laying the foundation, you want it to not easily be shaken or susceptible to cracks. When laying a foundation, you have to be patient. It can be difficult when results don’t happen in the timing that you want them to. It’s through laying a foundation that our student-athletes learn that it’s not about the result but about developing the habits it takes for results to come in the first place. Patience is key! Lay a foundation that is worth laying. Are you building a foundation for your benefit or something greater than yourself?
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built His house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fa, because it had its foundation on the rock.”
Finally, we encourage our student-athletes to lay One Brick at a Time. Consistency is key when it comes to building. Consistency develops discipline. We define discipline as doing what you’re supposed to do the way that it’s supposed to be done all the time regardless of how you feel. Life throws many things at our student-athletes, and we want to walk with them daily to lay the best brick every day that they can. If they do that each day, eventually they have built a beautiful masterpiece that they can be proud of. This cannot be done by laying mediocre bricks or by laying one solid brick only when they “feel like it”. When you lay one solid brick every day, eventually you will build something that you can be proud of!
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

‼️ UPCOMING EVENTS
SUMMER WORKOUTS
Days: Every week Monday-Thursday beginning on June 19th until the end of July.
Time: 8am-9am in weight room, courts will be open from 9am-11am
Location: Cardinal Athletic Training Center
We are wanting to take our athlete's physical abilities to the next level. Because of this, we are going to be holding organized workouts for all of our student-athletes. In order for our sports teams to excel on the court and field next season, off-season workouts are crucial! We want our athletes to grow faster and stronger to compete at a high level.
To all our student-athletes, we encourage you to participate in these workouts. They are completely optional, but we believe they are a valuable opportunity to enhance your skills, improve fitness, foster team spirit, and prepare for the next season. To our parents and guardians, we appreciate your ongoing support and involvement, as it plays a crucial role in the development of our athletes.
Our workout sessions are designed to accommodate our students' various needs and capabilities while maintaining the highest standards of safety. They will be supervised and led by our skilled and dedicated strength coach, Carlos Vega, as well as other members of our Cardinal coaching staff.
Note: Please ensure that you bring the necessary fluids and workout attire to each workout. It gets HOT in the CATC during the summer months.
We are dedicated to providing an environment that encourages our student-athletes to thrive, and we believe that these off-season workouts are a significant part of that commitment. We look forward to seeing the growth and development of our athletes during this period and eagerly anticipate the start of the new season.

“But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in my weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
To God be the glory,
