“Process Thinking”

Control what you can control. Ignore the scoreboard, the game clock, and the opposing team. Instead, concentrate on what you can control—accountability, effort, discipline, and commitment.

This approach challenges the conventional emphasis on focusing on the end result and encourages players to prioritize accountability. Holding oneself responsible for actions during every possession lays the foundation for growth and resilience. Effort becomes the driving force for every single possession. It’s one of the only things that can be controlled.

Discipline also plays a crucial role in this shift, requiring players to commit to disciplined actions and decision-making. A disciplined approach not only elevates individual performance but also fosters a culture of excellence within the team.

Commitment to the build becomes the glue that holds everything together, reinforcing the idea that success is a continuous pursuit rather than a destination.

By concentrating on accountability, effort, discipline, and commitment, athletes not only enhance their chances of success but also cultivate a resilient mindset. Victory then becomes a byproduct of mastering process thinking.

💭 QUOTE OF THE DAY

Listening is not simply hearing the words that are spoken. Listening is understanding why the words were spoken.”

- Simon Sink

💬 VERSE OF THE DAY

“Make me to know Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day long. Remember Your mercy, O LORD, and Your steadfast love, for they have been from of old.”

“But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in my weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
