The work we do matters.
As Christians in today’s fast-paced world, we find ourselves tempted to compartmentalize our lives. We separate our work from our faith. We view our work as merely a means to earn a paycheck. We do it just to get by.
Every Christian has a calling in life. This calling is not just about the work that you do to earn a paycheck. For high schoolers, it’s not just about the sport you play or the grades you get. Your calling extends to all aspects of your life. It’s an opportunity to extend God’s love and to serve others.
It includes our responsibilities as workers, family members, and friends. It’s the glamorous and the humble work. It’s the work that’s in the public eye and the behind the scenes work.
Whether you’re a teacher educating the future, a mechanic fixing cars, a parent raising children, or a student growing their knowledge to benefit the world, all of us have a unique calling that we play out in this world.
This work is not to be done in vain. It is to be done from a lense of love and service to others.
When we understand this concept that our work is not primarily for personal gain, we can better serve those around us.
Someone someone else needs your work.
There is no secular vs. sacred divide when it comes to the kingdom-building work that we do. All work that is honest and done in faith to the glory of God is sacred work. It holds a meaningful purpose - to serve others and bring glory to God’s name.
This work that we do is our response to God’s calling. It’s a way that we participate in His redemptive work in the world. It gives the life that we live purpose.
Ultimately, our work is how we live out our faith! The jobs that we engage in every day are avenues for putting our faith into action! We see the importance of this found in James 2:17, “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead.”
Our work provides opportunities to love and serve our neighbors. Our faith should inform the way we approach work. It’s how we live out our faith!
It’s not just a means to an end.
It’s not just a source of income.
It’s an opportunity to honor God and serve our neighbors.
What a great purpose we have to wake up every day! Every day is a day to wake up and build His kingdom!
Thanks be to God!

💭 QUOTE OF THE DAY
“If you’re not loaded down with reasons why something won’t work, the reasons why it can work become much clearer.”
🧰 CARDINAL TOOLBOX
Some thoughts on a crucial foundational element for athletes to develop: competitive maturity.
It’s not “me vs. you” it’s “me with you”!)
"Competitive maturity is difficult. One of the foundational things is it’s not me versus you. It’s me with you. It’s me pushing you for you to get better, so you can then push me to take the next step."
Great teammates compete with each other to complete each other and the team.— The Winning Difference (@thewinningdiff1)

‼️ UPCOMING EVENTS
SUMMER WORKOUTS
This is our last week of summer workouts! These workouts are reserved for CHS students only.
Here is the schedule for them on Mondays-Thursdays.
8am-9am: Weight Room
9am-11am: Open Gym
We’d love to have you come workout!
DEAD WEEK
Next week is the official dead week issued by TAPPS. Because of this we will not be running any workouts and the CATC will NOT be made available for student-athletes.
Fine Art activities may continue, but all Athletic activities are governed by the Dead Week period. Cheer is considered Fine Arts which allows them to practice during Dead Week.
Coaches should not have contact with players and facilities will not be made available for use (whether voluntary or mandatory). Summer league teams representing CHS may not participate in competitions during dead week.
The school year is coming soon! I look forward to watching our athletes compete after the hard work they put in this summer!

“But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in my weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
To God be the glory,
